“iv got a polaroid tv and iv connected the HDMI lead but i cant hear any sound from the tv coming out of the surround sound system.. do i need another type of lead for this to work? everything else is working fine.. But i would like it to connect to my tv”

The tv has to have a HDMI slot that also says arc next to it, not all tvs have that. If it dont, I believe a optical audio cable will work. ARC means audio return channel. Also the HDMI cable must be a high speed cable.
