Can this be connected to a non HDMI ARC TV? I have a 6 year old Mitsubishi 65" DLP TV. It has 3 HDMI outputs, but they are not "ARC" We purchased a J550 only to find out that it not compatible and there is no way to connect it other than stereo. Is this model the same?

It will display video yes, ARC compatibility is audio. This unit is the same as the last one you bought. You will only get stereo audio unless you have an optical output on your television with 5.1 capability that you can then connect to the Samsung.

Yes, it has the old red, white, yellow connectors and 1 optic port / HDMI.
there should be no issues connecting an older tv to it.

If your TV has an optical cable jack, use that. My TV has ARC and it still didn't work. Hope that helps..l

I am using an optical cable and have 5.1 with great sound quality. I have this sound system connected to a Sony TV with HDMI for video.
