“1. Do you have to set up the microphone? 2. Everything is hooked up., Blu Ray, Xfiinity TV , PS4. Everything works except the TV. No picture and no sound. I switched the hdmi for the Blu ray and TV and then the TV works? Why would that be?”

You do not have to hookup the speaker, that is used for testing and setting up perfect surround sound.

All of your external devices ( DVD/Blu-Ray, PS4 and Xfinity should go into the inputs, the output should go to your TV. Your TV will feed sound back to the receiver through the HDMI cable, while all the components feed signal to your TV through the Yamaha.
