What is the HDMI out for? null

It's for connecting another device to the surround sound.

It’s what sends the video signal to the TV. You an hook up a cable/satellite box as well as a blue ray DVD player into the HDMI input and then use the receiver as a switch depending on what input source you’re using.

It is so you can run your HDMI devices through another source to make it more convenient than switching sources on the TV.

The HDMI output is for hooking up you dvd player, cable box, Etc.

The HDMI out port is used to connect a TV.
