Yes, you can play Minecraft on the Chromebook.

I've owned a model similar to this one (older acer chromebook 11, same processor same RAM) for about a year. I don't think this is the chromebook you want to get if you want to play Minecraft. Honestly, my chromebook has trouble with some flash games. Don't get me wrong, I love my chromebook. Best $170 I ever spent. But that's not really what its intended for.
