This is not an expensive or high quality monitor, and I wish that’s a question I would’ve asked myself before buying it. If you’re looking to buy this monitor for occasional or light-duty use you can probably get away without eye protection, but if you’re like me and bought it for work, school, or any scenario where you’ll be using it for multiple hours at once, yes definitely. The blue light is very harsh from this monitor and the colors are not warm at all. For me personally, the eye strain is noticeable almost immediately, and my eyes are in good shape I don’t wear glasses or anything. 30 minutes in and I have a headache, but again this is me personally. So if you’re looking to buy this monitor for serious/professional use, my answer to your question is 100% yes.
