Acer has not tested PhotoShop so we would recommend you check that the computer meets the system requirements of the application to determine if it will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s 1.6 at idle and low intensity tasks. It turbo boosts up to 3.4Ghz on demand. The lower idle frequency helps prolong battery life.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The GHz of the processor doesn't play a big role in opening Photoshop. Due to it being an 8th generation i5 processor and the computer having an SSD, bootup of applications should be extremely fast. The processor is quad core, which also speeds things up a lot. I would be willing to bet 1.6GHz is how it runs with low-consumption use, and then as soon as you need the extra power all of the cores are put to work. A lot of computers have a low GHz with a "boost" one that is much higher for quick periods of needing a lot of power at once. This comes from experience with my own Acer Aspire.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to Adobe, "System requirements | January 2018 and October 2017 (19.x) releases of Photoshop CC Windows Intel® Core 2 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor; 2 GHz or faster processor" I've seen recommendations for up to 3 GHz of you want to run photoshop flawlessly so this laptop would struggle heavily with such a demanding program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here are the recommendations from Adobe with my comments based on this laptop parameters: Intel® Core 2 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor; 2 GHz or faster processor // laptop has 1.6 GHz base up to 3.4 GHz variable clock speed, should be fine Photoshop CC release 19.1 (and later) supports Windows 10 1607 and later versions, but not versions 1511 or earlier. // you might need to install some updates for the latest version of PS 2 GB or more of RAM (8 GB recommended) 2.6 GB or more of available hard-disk space for 32-bit installation; 3.1 GB or more of available hard-disk space for 64-bit installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system) // 250 GB of SSD should be enough 1024 x 768 display (1280x800 recommended) with 16-bit color and 512 MB or more of dedicated VRAM; 2 GB is recommended* // this is what might be the bottleneck because laptop does not have a dedicated graphics card. So it's going to be OK for some occasional photo editing but not for heavy graphics processing tasks. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html
