• There could be a number of reasons it was recertified-some are demo units, review units or customer returns. Unfortunately there is no way to determine why a particular model was recertified.

• I had bought this laptop as refurbished then had to send it back. I believe the reason this model is only sold as refurbished is because it was discontinued to a hardware and/or battery malfunction because when I used it. It worked fine plugged in but would turn itself completely off when unplugged.
