• Top and Middle cover are made of metal, aluminum alloy. Bottom cover has a soft touch coating, similar to Dell.

• Yes it is Aluminum!! Its black Anodized Aluminum. Its as rugged as the MacBook Air. I have them both. I love this for Windows.

• The part where keyboard is is Aluminum or something metallic as I believe also the outer LCD covering but the inner part surrounding the LCD as well as the chassis door is plastic. The metallic part color is beautiful.

• I find it built well, covered with Aluminum on the cover but solid, I've been using it in all positions without issue.

• Some sort of metal, painted black, hard to tell. Not cheap plastic.
