“I was obviously sent a lemon Acer 315. Why do Best Buy and Acer not guarantee their product longer and with them having to pay for the shipping cost? Was this a damage return that I received? How can I tell?Acer custgomer service was not helpful.”

The manufacturer's warranty is one year from date of purchase. You don't say when this was purchased but if this is a recent purchase, we suggest you contact Acer support at 866-695-2237 for assistance with your Chromebook. They are available 24/7 for in-warranty products.
