• Yes. This will hook up to hotspots, just fine. I've used it w the Hotspot on my android.

• You can use your phone's mobile data to connect your Chromebook to the internet. Sharing a connection this way is called tethering or using a portable hotspot. You may need to check with your cell provider to see if you have tethering feature in your plan.
