• I have another monitor I use and I plug the hdmi cord in the monitor. Both screens work perfect

• Yes you can. I use it as a second monitor and as long as your laptop can output an HDMI signal, the monitor can display it. Depending on what you want on the monitor, your computer can probably send a mirror image or have it act like additional screen-space like I do.

• Yes, most laptops can either display the same content from the laptop monitor to the screen, or go to display settings and do multi-screen to have a "dual monitor" setup.
