No, the backlight will go out after 30 seconds of inactivity, but we have posted a BIOS update version 1.13 that adds the ability to never time out, for those who want it on all the time. The BIOS update is posted here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7605?b=1
