“Is it normal that when I right click there was a delay of 1s. I just recently bought the unit in BestBuy Charleston and if this issue will be resolved by reformating the unit then it's all good. I'm a seafarer so I don't have the luxury of returning it.”

You can certainly try restoring the system but it could also be something running in the background that is causing the lag.
