No, the 1050-ti GPU is hard built into the motherboard of laptop similar to how it's impossible to upgrade a cell phone GPU. Acer Nitro 5 runs games OK at 1080p, but you do need the 1070 or 80 for 4k gaming so you must build or get a desktop tower pc or buy new gaming laptop to get it. Another user with more technical knowledge about Acer Nitro 5 laptop posted, "You can't use external GPU on this device, because eGPU requires USB type C thunderbolt port, which this device doesn't have(it has USB type is 3.1 gen 1 same as USB type A 3.0" Adding in a 1TB solid state drive and more RAM dramatically improve performance for me.
