“I'm wanting to get into VR and pondering a purchase of oculus rift. I'm wondering if this laptop is VR oculus rift ready and if the 8gb ram is sufficient or would i need to upgrade to 16gb ram. thanks”

The Nitro laptops do not support VR, but the Acer Predator laptop models do support VR. Depending on the game requirements, you might want to add more memory.
