“What is the size of the a/c adapter plug that this laptop uses? 5.5mm? I ask because i cannot use the straight out the back type connection. I will need to find a 90-degree adapter to use for school. Saves room on my desktop.”

It certainly looks like a 5.5mm from what I can tell... here's a picture of a 5.5mm (bottom) next to the power brick plug. The 5.5mm slides right in, no problem... but it does not feel as tight as the power brick plug. It might be due to the added plastic shoulder on the factory plug. The distance that the plug hangs out there is about 2.5" if you bend it at the strain relief as shown in the picture. The power brick is good for 330 watts, so if you are thinking about going with a 90 degree plug adapter, get one good for at least 17A. 20A if you can find it. Hope this helps.
