“Is it easy to repaste the cpu in this laptop? Also, i noticed in youtube videos it looks like the m.2 nvme drive has some black cover around it. Is that a heat sink? So if i install a different m.2 drive without the black cover, would it get too hot?”

I'm unsure as far as repasting laptop CPU's. I mess with desktops a lot, but laptops I don't mess with internals as much. SSD just has a black sticker on it like SODIMMs that come installed on laptops. Don't worry about that. Added one of my old SSD's into the 2nd slot and it's working just fine.
