This should work fine for both work and game play as this is a gaming laptop. Like with many 3rd party applications we always recommend you make sure the specifications of a laptop will meet or exceed what games you play, to be sure it will meet your needs. This is a Windows device so Microsoft Office will run fine on this as well.
