  • QuestionDoes this run android apps?

    Asked by jeff.

    • Answer Yes, the Acer R11 was actually one of the first of the 3rd generation Chromebooks that Google announced would be compatible with running Android on Chromebooks. Instructions can be found here: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/7021273?hl=en

  • Questionwhat type of warranty is included for the refurbished models?

    Asked by Carolyn.

    • Answer From the Acer advertisement for the same unit: If you Google it, it comes up as the Acer part number for the re-certified unit (as advertised): Acer Chromebook, 11.6", Intel Celeron 1.60 GHz, 4GB Ram, 16 GB Flash, Chrome OS- CB5-132T-C8ZW | Factory Recertified. Coincidentally, it shows the condition as : Factory Recertified Fully Functional - refurbished by the factory 14 Day Refund - No Exchanges Accepted (from Acer, NOT BB) Warranty 90 Day (Again, from Acer, NOT BB) I'm guessing the same terms probably apply. I wouldn't expect more than 90 days.

  • QuestionDoes this item have a cd/ dvd drive so we can play music or watch dvd movies

    Asked by Samjg28.

    • Answer No, the unit does not have a CD/DVD drive, nor does it have the licensed codecs to decode an external USB DVD drive. It is great for watching videos however. Just get them online (play store to rent movies, youtube, hulu, netflix, etc.) or download them as files.

  • QuestionIs this 2in1 suitable for online -on-the-go college students?

    Asked by Bxbornvettech.

    • Answer I would agree that this is a good low budget option for college students - light, decent battery life, and the light ChromeOS makes 4Gb run smooth. Android apps gives all the benefits from a tablet too. 2 caveats: This will only in the web and Android version of Microsoft Office. Although G Suite works just fine and can export to Office file versions, this is good to know. Also, if you're buying a printer too, make sure t o grab one that is Google Cloud Ready compatible. If it is a secodnary computer, you can install it as a classic printer, but print jobs will need to route through your primary computer. Also, PC games are limited to android and web games. Steam and PC versions of video games can't be added, but for a computer at this price point, windows computers wouldn't do much better either.

  • QuestionWould I be able to run dreamweaver on this, and would it run smooth?

    Asked by Oscardagrouch.

    • Answer If it is available as an app from the Google Play Store or Chrome Web store, yes. If it is an app that must be installed on the computer, then a Windows laptop would suit you better. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/chromebook-vs-laptop/
