You cannot install the full Word and Excel applications, as they are Windows-only. You an use the web/browser-based applications, through Office 365, or use the Android apps. Web-based Office 365 apps are surprisingly full featured, and I used to use them daily when I had a Mac PowerBook (and I have 25+ years in IT, so I’m no n00b)

I recently completed my Masters Degree which required the use of Microsoft products using a similar Chromebook and Office 365 without any problems.
