- Answer True, Android apps do not currently run on the Acer R11. Presently you can run web based programs through your browser and the limited Chrome browser extensions and Chrome OS apps as shown in the Chrome OS Store. However, within 2 months you will be able to download the Google Play Store with access to all Android apps. The Acer R11 is the second Chromebook receiving this ability through the Chrome OS. Once that's done, you will have all the functionality Google has to offer.

QuestionBest Buy seems to be selling this with 4GB of RAM.... I just want to make sure that's correct because I haven't found it anywhere else with 4. Even the Google Store is only selling the 2GB version.

- Answer Search Best Buy's website for the model CB5-132T-C8ZW and it's on sale right now (Lucky You) for $259 I checked the reviews on this Chromebook at websites CNET PCMAG and LAPTOPMAG and all of the versions of this laptop had the 4 GB RAM The professional reviewers mentioned both Best Buy and Costco as having the 4 GB and I verified it on both websites. I also went to ACERs website and it showed BEST BUY one of the online sellers that had 4 GB and ACER's website also had a series of check boxes for options This model ACER CB5 had both options 2 GB (Amazon's version) and 4 GB (Best Buy) Some of the Amazon reviewers are complaining about performance issues, and I'd bet it's due to the RAM being only 2 GB on Amazon's model. (Sure I'd rather have 8 GB but that isn't an option with this one) I bought mine w 4 GB from Best Buy online and am happy with it so far. I have this as a backup to my only other pc which is a Windows 7 Desktop (with ClassicShell installed) To find other sellers, do an internet search for ACER CB5 132T C1SY 2-IN-1 TOUCH SCREEN CHROMEBOOK QUADCORE 4GB MEMORY

- Answer Yes, this is one of the best chrome books for kids as it is an all aluminum case just like a Mac and it will spread shock (like from dropping it) throughout the material and not the internal components. With it being next in line for android support that opens it up to touch screen gaming as well and just to give you further proof my 4 year old has a chromebook and loves it. I will be getting this model for myself and my brother and dad already have and they are both power users!

- Answer I just bought this laptop at Best Buy yesterday. I just updated to Chrome OS 53 and, lo and behold, the Google Play store (beta) option is now there in Settings and I enabled it, downloaded the Play store and started downloading apps. It might be that the fact that it still shows as beta explains why this model is not listed as having Android app compatability but, I don't care as I got what I wanted and I am satisfied with my purchase.

- Answer I have the Acer R11 from Best Buy described above, and the information label on the box says plainly "802.11ac + BT" Hope this helps.

QuestionThe previous models used the Intel N3150 quad-core processor, this model says Intel N3060 which is dual core but newer. Would I notice the difference with this newer model doing various tasks versus the older model with the quad-core?

- Answer I have the N3050 model and haven't had any problems with everything I've thrown at it. I have multiple tabs opens running video, music and editing documents and don't notice any lag. - Answer Chromebooks run off of apps like an Android phone or tablet. Chromebooks are different from standard laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. However if you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better.
