A:Answer I guess it depends on the definition of "lasting". I still have couple of 5-6 year old android phones, and they work perfectly fine. However, they slow down when 2-3 applications are running at the same time. Or similar situation when installing a memory hungry game on a 8 year old computer or laptop.
From hardware aspect, chromebooks are nimble and lighter, the moving parts (hinges) can get damaged by opening and closing them repeatedly (just like any other laptop). But the chrombooks can start as low as $100 for refurbished, which makes them an excellent investment.
