Recertified indicates a previously-purchased item returned to the manufacturer. It is inspected and if needed, repair the item before reselling, usually at a significant discount. There could be a number of reasons it was recertified-some are demo units, review units or customer returns. Unfortunately there is no way to determine why a particular product was recertified or what was refurbished.
