“I have not been able to get the HDMI to display port to work with either the computer or my XBOX. The monitor does not recognize that the device has been connected. The HDMI to HDMI ports work with both.”

I know in experience that some hdmi to DP or DP to hdmi are directional in some cases. EXAMPLE: DP at PC to hdmi at monitor works. Not not the other way around hdmi at PC to DP at monitor.
