Yes, I have eliminated the FIOS Quantum Gateway from my network. I use these at each COAX terminal to split the ethernet from the cable. For the STB (Set Top Box) you will likely want to the split line, so a coax with ethernet goes to the STB. The reason is that you need ethernet for OnDemand.
