Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you need both... it's basically translating the coax to ethernet... so you need to hook it up this way. Ethernet (from router or switch) -> MOCA adapter -> coax cable line -> MOCA adapter -> ethernet line (into device needing internet)
