Yes, that is exactly what this product does. You still need a short hdmi cable to connect your cable box to the transmitter and then another small hdmi box to connect the receiver to the TV, but you no longer need to run a cord in between the box and the tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Noit really replace the cord, but rather split it. The unit comes with 2 short hdmi cables, a transmitter and a reciever. You use 1 hdmi cord to connect the transmitter to the TWC cable box. Then the you connect the second hrmi cord between the reciever and the TV. This way you could have the box in the corner, and the TV across the room. BTW, both the reciever and transmitter do need power.
