It will work, Leave the main tv on and go to your second tv and turn it on to make sure you have both audio and video, if not you will need to unplug the receiver cord from the power outlet to reset and then you should be ok. This unit works fine if you are willing to go through the reset process each time. On this you will use your tv control to turn on your tv and use it for the volume and you will use your same controller to change the channel. Hope this was some help
