Yes, it should work. The cable box feeds the wireless transmitter unit whose built-in HDMI jack connect to you local TV, while trasmitting the HDMI signal to the remote receiver bix connected to your bedroom TV. In fact, you should not have both TVs on because there is a microsecond audio delay at the receiving end, and you will hear an echo in the sound.
