• I have not tried doing that, but the base is pair by manufacturer to the remote device, I do not know you can buy one device alone. so, I dont think it will work. By default it is setup to work with two TV's.

• Yes. I have two sets and both receivers can connect to one transmitter and display one source to two different HDMI displays.
