I'm doing something very similar at the moment. If you attach the transmitter to the output of your NVR, it'll transmit the video signal you would normally see on the monitor at the NVR to the second monitor. The transmitter even allows for you to connect the monitor at the NVR to it so you don't lose any monitoring capability.
