I had this done at the suggestion of the Installer and it's a wonderful idea. What it does is enable you to put the cables and connections for devices "in the wall" and behind the sheet rock to run down INSIDE THE WALL to an area near the bottom of the wall where the cables come out to be connected to other devices you are hooking up to your TV (i.e. Game Boxes, DVD's, etc.) It completely HIDES all the wires and cables and helps our living room look tidy and neat.
