A:Answer Based on my understanding, the TV calibration is not really based on SD, HD, Dolby Vision. Based on my understanding and experience, one main purpose for the Geek Squad TV calibration is to make sure your TV settings, like white balance, are set as close as possible to the recommended industry standards for your type of TV. Once your TV has been calibrated to the standard recommendation, then other settings can be adjusted by the customer to their own personal viewing preferences and program materials. For example, I recently had my TV calibrated, and the key was to make sure the white balance is set correctly based on the TV industry standards; i.g. the core settings of your TV are set as good as possible for your TV. Therefore, after calibration, you do not want to make changes or adjustments that would impact the newly calibrated base settings. Plus, it is a good idea to record or document what the base settings are for your newly calibrated TV.
Now, as I watch different types of programs, the images may be different based on the quality and format of the TV program. Therefore, I have adjusted the "color" setting (not TINT) to the way I like the color to look. For example, I don't like the skin tone for people to be too warm or orange, so I adjusted the color down to make skin tones less orange or red like. Plus, I usually watch TV in a dark room; therefore I usually turn down brightness.
