What we do know is that our headphones work by sending vibrations through the inner ear and into the cochlea. Customers who benefit most from our products seem to be those with damaged ear drums, but healthy cochlea. Our headphones are not hearing devices; however we do have customers who use them to assist with hearing, usually by pairing the headphones to their phone and accessing a hearing aid app like Petralex, Ear Spy, Ear Trumpet, or Hear You Now. These apps use the mic on the phone to pick up surrounding sound and transmit it through the headphones.

It’s just like headphones that are Bluetooth capable for wireless communication. Yes they have to be connected to a device. They’re mostly for hands free communication on a computer, video game console, computer, or phone.
