OpenComm is the first AfterShokz Bluetooth headset designed specifically for communication. Q: are these noise cancelling ? Can they be used with any cell phone ?
A: I use these in a tractor-trailer driving down the road and the people who are contacting me say that they can't hear any truck noise in the background. So I would say yes they are noise canceling.
Q: Do these work when on a laptop connected to teams and zoom meetings?
A: Yes! Have been able to use it with VOIP phone, WebEx, Teams, and Zoom meetings with no trouble!
Q: How far does the microphone swing up and down
A: If you are on my left, looking at my left ear, assume that my nose points forward and is zero / horizontal. When in the lowest position facing forward it angles directly towards my mouth, around 35/40 degrees below horizontal. When 'stowed' behind the ear, keeping the same orientation towards horizontal, it's pointing behind me, just below horizontal, about 200 degrees back from the level forward position.
A: I wear glasses full time and I have no issues at all. They are very comfortable.
Q: How does the sound quality compare to the Aeropex?
A: Exactly the same as aeropex for listening to music and podcasts. This one shines for the audio clarity of the microphone. The person on the other end of the call will thank you. This has the comfort of the Aeropex but is made for talking on the phone. The aeropex is garbage for talking on the phone. I love my Aeropex for working out and purchased this for the office. My wife said this was clearer than me holding my handset to my ear.
Q: Can it be paired with two phones at the same time?
A: Yes and no. It cannot be connected to both simultaneously. It is definitely not designed for it. I have to shut the bluetooth off on one device before i can get the headset to connect with the other. I have a pair of Bose Soundsport that actually has a button for switching devices and wish these did the same.
Q: Is the aftershocks compatible with Apple devices? Computer/IPhone?
A: Yes, I have two Aftershokz headphones, including the OpenComm headset, and they both pair easily with my Apple iphone and mini ipad.
Q: Will these work on a motorcycle riding down the highway?
A: This will not work with a full face or 3/4 helmet. It can work with a half.
