Hi Dave! Thank you for your question and we apologize for the delay in response. Radon is a noble gas and under any normal condition it is "monomolecular." Any other forms do not exist under normal room temperature and conditions. It detects radon (Rn222) along with radon daughters (Po-218 and Po-214) and separates between these by measuring the energy of the detected alpha particles. Airthings Team
