Yes if you would like to basically use any of the features. I got the google Wi-Fi and it’s work perfect.

Yes. You cannot run without it unless you hard-wire. If your cameras are too far from the router, they will continually disconnect. The wifi strength in these cameras are not very strong.

Yes or direct internet connection.
