Both DIMMS are used, occupied by 2x8GB DDR4 2666. If you're looking to go 32 then you need to be aware that this system doesn't support XMP so Crucial, Kingston, Corsair etc 2666 modules will be downclocked to 2400 or below. Dell has a 32GB kit but it's more expensive than any of the high end 3rd party folks and Dell doesn't publish the CAS numbers on it so good luck knowing what you're getting. They also don't release who the OEM is so you can't look at a comparable product.
