“I ordered a R7 from dell.com and the computer did not have an optical drive go with it. I don't see any space or slot to possibly insert the optical drive into. Do you have any suggestion or way on how to do it? I don't prefer the external optical drive.”

There is an externally accessible 5.25" bay, so you should be able to add an internal optical drive. I can't give a better answer than that without knowing more about what components you've got in your R7, but assuming you've got a free 5.25" bay, I don't see why not!
