No, this monitor does not feature built in microphone or speakers.

A good pair of Logitech speakers and a mic OR a headset with a mic would work better than any built in speaker or mic that the 15" Alienware has. If you are looking for power and portability, go for the laptop. Otherwise you get some really good performance out of the Auroa (depending on configuration) and this monitor. If you want to get this monitor with the Auroa, make sure you have a good graphics card in it. The GTX 1080 and an i7 is a solid option to be able to really get the full use out of this monitor. If you get anything less than that, this monitor won't be worth the price because you wouldn't be able to use it to it's full potential for most games. I know there are plenty of other good 144hz monitors for a better price out there. If you look, you'll find some good deals since black Friday is coming up. You honestly can't tell much of a difference between 144hz and 240hz unless you are really REALLY looking. Good luck
