It is an extension of the bus of the host computer. If the host computer supports 3.0, it will as well. Be warned that because it is an extension, and not a native port the speeds are lower than would normally be on a motherboard. In essence it acts like a 4x PCIe lane connection. Your video card will be slower than benchmarks you see for the same card in a motherboard.
