• This system supports only PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe interface.

• Yes, the m.2 SATA is compatible in the NVMe slot on the Alienware m17 r3. The reason being is that the M and/or B keys will fit into the notches on the slot. This information was double-checked on Dells website prior to submitting but please double-check yourself.
