QuestionCan you guys clarify what RAM upgrades work for this model? Are there models from Kingston HyperX that don’t work, or do they all interchange in? I’m looking to get the 33gb update and want to check what works and what wouldn’t. Thanks!

- Answer The system memory can be upgraded to a max of 32 GB and these are the configurations supported: (a) 8 GB, 2 x 4 GB, DDR4, 2667 MHz, (b) 16 GB, 2 x 8 GB, DDR4, 2667 MHz, (c) 32 GB, 2 x 16 GB, DDR4, 2667 MHz.

- Answer Yes, and I use a cable because my oculus 2 seems to not work with a lot of games so I hook it up to the pc to get those games to work. I use a 16g Alienware for that. You have to check yo see if your laptop will work with it I guess.

QuestionIs this soda resistant? One of my friends had one and it broke after spilling soda on it and if it can't had small spills then I don't want it. I rather get a macbook and play cyberpunk 2077 on it.

- Answer I have a clear cover on the keyboard at least but I’m a 62 year old and I co Ed my phones and have had the 1st IPhone up to the 12 now and never have broken one yet. I keep drinks far to the side of the computer and am carful not to spill anything. Accidents will happen but when your older and know the value of a dollar it helps to keep such mishaps down. But you can at least get a clear keyboard cover.

Questionhow good is cooling in this laptop? my previous laptop was ASUS g75 and while not all aspects of it were excellent, its cooling system was top notch (it never reached 90c in midst of intensive gaming)

- Answer I got a cover from Amazon that looks awesome and it covers the trim on the Alienware very well and It turns head. Maybe you can get a bag to slip it in. But I don’t trust leaving it as is and have covers for all my 3 laptops to protect them. Alienware covers do cost a lot but look great.

- Answer The ability to change MAC Addresses from windows settings depends on the driver design and configuration. If you are looking to do MAC spoofing, then most of the router does have that option or you may contact your internet provider.

QuestionThere are two variations of the 2070 super for laptops the 2070 super Max-Q which needs a 80-90watt battery to power and the 2070 Super (mobile/Max-P/Max Performance) I’ve seen it called, needs a 115watt battery to power. Which one is this laptop?

- Answer This is the 2070 Super (Mobile) usually it would specifically say it is the Max-Q or not. Also you can always confirm by checking the clock speed on the gpu. Max-Q is 930 MHz with boost to 1155 MHz and the 2070 Super (Mobile) Base is 1140 MHz and boost to 1380 MHz. It is a shame Nvidia created two different RTX 2070 Super laptop versions and one being the Max-Q is so much inferior so it is good to double check. But no this laptop has the good one I can confirm.

- Answer The graphics card on this system is soldered to the motherboard hence, the GPU is not upgradeable.

- Answer I dont believe it would be the best computer for your required programs but I would ask alienware themselves if it will be able to support those programs, for engineering class I had to build a computer to be able to support the immense amount of detail and planning that went into structure's and I would assume that the programs you would be running would take up massive amounts of memory.
