Yup you have to run it at 4 ohms with that sub which will let your amp put out 300 watts. If you can return your sub and get a dual 4 ohm model I would do that. Or get another amp that's 1 ohm stable and wire your sub to 1 ohm.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That's correct, you would need a dual voice coil, 4ohm ea coil to wire it Down to a 2ohm. Although I've read alot of debates about hooking up only 1 voice coil (2ohm) and pulling off a 2ohm install on a dvc 2ohm sub. The argument goes both ways, but many installers say they have done it for years with no issues or damage to the subs.
