it fully depends on the vehicle. some vehicles call for a PAC module which interprets data and sends said data to the radio. this includes steering wheel controls and backup cameras if equipped. others call for different modules to retain steering wheel controls. i would speak with a sales associate to get a more definitive answer. hope this helps.
