• Hi there - the RockBox XL will function while plugged int. However we recommend to turn off the speaker while charging, for optimal charging and battery life.

• It is recommended you do Not leave it plugged in !!! When charging do Not leave it plugged overnight !!! Have it plugged in only long enough to fully charge or battery could be damaged in all instances!!! It does play when plugged in, but it is not recommended…I hope this answers your questions.
