Q: QuestionDoes this microwave have side screws? Is it able to be installed with bracket as well as screws from the sides (not the top)?

• A:Answer No. The microwave is attached to the bracket and then screwed in from the top. I've never heard of side screws for a microwave!

Q: QuestionI noticed on the top of the microwave there is an opening all along the top that looks like I am missing a part. Is this area supposed to be open like that? It is big enough to where small objects can fall inside the top of the microwave.

Q: QuestionYou state that the clearance between the bottom of the microwave and the stove-top needs to be 30". Why minimum 30"? Is it a building code? My current microwave as installed by developer has 17-18" clearance. Can I not install this Amana w/that clearance?

• A:Answer According to the installation diagram, the 30" is from the bottom of the cabinet which would be the top of the microwave. Since the microwave is 17" tall, you should have at least 13" clearance from the stove-top to the bottom of the microwave. You should be fine.

• A:Answer peculiar question - there is built in kitchen cabinet above - guess if you remove it? But still the bracket holding the micro. is at the bottom - so, do not understand what would be a benefit? Perhaps attachment of two holding screws at the top could be easier, but you still need the bottom of that cabinet (and the rest of that cabinet ) to hold micro.?
