A:Answer When you are washing the dishes in the dishwasher, you are also cleaning the inside of it. However if you haven't used it in a while, you can run it on empty, add a dishwasher cleaner to the bottom of the tub. If you don't have a dishwasher cleaner available, add 2 table spoons of bleach. If you don't like bleach, add a cup of hydrogen peroxide to the bottom of the tub and spray the walls and areas with it in a spray bottle. You can create a sweet-scented dishwasher cleaning “bomb” with hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and essential oil. Google that.
