“where are you measuring the depth on this dryer. my current dryer is 25.5" deep on the top, but exhaust connection on back at base is another couple inches.”

The depth of this dyer is from to front to back; from "frame" to back of "frame" not including the exhaust connection. So, yes add a few more inches for the exhaust connection plus hose. There is also a sticker at the top of the controls which states the "minimum distance from wall" as a guide. see attached picture.
